Ah semantics. I am quite fond of the name Steamers. Steamed crabs are red... hot... and loved by almost every Baltimore resident. I can not think of a more fitting name to represent my city.

I get the impression those 2 names, Mariners & Steamers, were "pre selected" by the league before the actual contest. I find it hard to believe that any football fan would of suggested naming their team after a crab?

I actually recommended the Blue Crabs. That was my submission. Hmmm... I wonder if that makes me eligible for one of the prizes.  It is after all, very very close to my submission. My choice just happens to have a pulse and are pre-cooked. |

I of course thank the baby Jesus that I do not live in Cleveland for the following reasons 1: Having to hear people mention the Cleveland Steamer and two: Um... its Cleveland and therefore sucks dog scrote. . It is still better than the team name I originally suggested "The Dirty Sanchezes" |

All I did was point out a little fact that Balt did just has bad has Erie (Balt also had more time to get ready for the season also if I remember correct) so you have no room to talk about Erie.  Officer, there aren't any woman that good looking in Baltimore to join the dance team.  |

seriously though, who came up with either of the two choices. I had some great submissions, none of which were part of the voting process. Oh well, now I just want the steamers as its dumber.

Where did the names come form, who shot JFK, does Bigfoot exist? It does not matter at this point. Still, i like the name "The Steamers". It rings with Baltimore tradition.
