MYERS, FL. - The American Indoor Football Association's (AIFA) expansion Team, the Florida Stingrays, announced today that they have been invited to assist in an open tryout with the AFL's Tampa Bay Storm this Saturday, December 15 at 10:00 a.m. in Tampa. Stingray coaches Bryan Jernigan and Bernard Edwards, who played for the Storm will assist in several drills for players wanting to play for the AFL franchise. Head Coach Brian (BJ) Jernigan, "This is a huge opportunity for our expansion franchise to not only work with a top shelf organization and coaching staff, but also to get a look at some possible future Stingray players." Maybe that title should read "AFL helps out AIFA", because lets be honest, if there was no tie to the Storm organization then they would probably just blow off the Stingrays.

What does either league have to do with this? It's between the Storm and the Stingrays. It's cool that the Stingrays will manage to try and snag a few Storm cast-offs.

Sykotyk is right. The Rome Renegades used to do this same thing with the Georgia Force. It had nothing to do with the leagues.
God knows the NIFL/AIFL (The two leagues the 'Gades played in) could never have "helped" the AFL.
It was the fact that the two team owners , Arthur Blank, and Harry Pierce, were old business partners that brought the two teams together.
The biggest benifit actually went to the Renegades. After the Force made their cuts, the 'Gades got first pick at their table scraps.
