THE FLORIDA STINGRAYS WELCOMES EX-NFL PLAYER HENRY FORD AS IT'S NEWEST ASSISTANT COACH.
September 25, 2007 - Ft. MYERS, FL. - The American Indoor Football Association's (AIFA) expansion Team Florida Stingrays announced today the hiring of Former Tennessee Oiler/Titan and New Orleans Saint Defensive End Henry Ford as Assistant Coach along Side Coach B.J. Jernigan and Coach Bernard Edwards.
Ford was drafted in the 1st round, 26th pick of the 1994 NFL draft by the Houston Oilers out of the University of Arkansas. Ford played most of his career with the Oilers/Titans and played one season with the New Orleans Saints.
The owners (Jarrod Williams, Gary Vaughn, Sean Harrell, David Still Jr., And Angel Trevino) of the Stingrays are well pleased to have been able to get Henry Ford to coach our guys.
GM Gary Vaughn, " We look forward to a great ball club, and we expect to win this season and send players to the next level." CEO Jarrod Williams, "We intend on building this franchise with a solid foundation so we can get our players the best exposure and get them prepared for the next level. Currently all of our coaches have played at the highest level and know what it takes to win. Today, AIFA teams are located in 10 states across the north and south United States. The league just completed its first season in 2007 and is looking at possible west coast expansion in 2008. The AIFA All-Star and Championship game was broadcast nationally to over 40 million viewers.
The American Indoor Football Association is a professional indoor football league operating across the United States. The AIFA games are played indoors in arenas across the country. The teams play eight vs. eight football on a 50-yard turf field. The AIFA was formed to offer young men a chance to play high-level football and the ability to excel and advance to the NFL, AFL or CFL. The AIFA offers fans "Fast Paced Family Fun" and the chance for
affordable family entertainment. The AIFA's signature red, white and blue footballs are given away at every game and fans meet with players on the
field after the games to further their family experience.
