That has always been the case. John Wolfe has issued all the pressers. Rightfully so. Have you ever seen Alexander Austins typing skills? Yuck! I should post a few of the e-mails I have from him. It makes Jim Terry look like William Shakespeare.

Well, good luck to the Blackbirds.
I thought the league owned the lease at First Mariner ... that might be awkward.
Once the smoke clears and the dust settles, it will be most interesting to hear the time line and details on this.

For right now, The Baltimore Blackbirds of (Soon to be named) league will have to find a new home. Where they set up nest next, who knows. The soon to be announced Baltimore AIFA franchise will most likely play in 1st Mariner.

John Morris and Michael Mink Co-Owners of the AIFA said that while the measures taken were extreme it was a necessary action to protect the integrity of the AIFA and its member teams. The AIFA wants its many fans across the league as well as in Baltimore to know that an AIFA team will play next season in Baltimore at 1st Mariner Arena. John Morris who is a local resident and a Baltimore native is excited about the future of the AIFA in Baltimore. He states Baltimore is a great market and the AIFA is very committed in helping them be very successful in the future. The new AIFA team does not own the name and logo of the Baltimore Blackbirds. Those belong to Alexander Austin. For the new team, I submit for league approval... The Baltimore Blue Crabs. Named after the tasty crustacean that is harvested from our Chesapeake Bay. The logo can be a fierce looking crab with his claws opened up and ready to strike.

I have nothing against that name. But..........if you were an opponent saying,"I'm going to Baltimore to get me some crabs." then it might be a problem.

We should have a "name the new Baltimore team" contest.

Note to self.. Never have sex in Baltimore. Have you seen the majority of the women here? You wouldn't want to . I had to go to a different state to find a girl to marry. Which kind of sucks, because now I am stuck with a Pittsburgh Steelers fan in my house. A Ravens fan and a Steelers fan under the same roof... not good.

Wow, I go off for a day at Hershey Park with the family and all hell breaks out. I see my team is not longer in the AIFA, and I am no longer a fan rep for the Blackbirds.
I am a bit surprised to see that the name Baltimore Blackbirds and the logo for same are still displayed on the site. I thought, given the way this has been handled so far, it would be in keeping with everything else, to just blow away all referrences to the Baltimore Blackbirds. Good luck to the AIFA drumming up a fanbase in Baltimore after this.
