Fun game! Started rocky with Tommy throwing a bad pass that was picked, but a strong second half, several turnovers, and 7 TD passes made for a great win. I will say that Florida's OL looked good tonight. They were the reason they scord 27 points. Gary is coaching a tough defense and Brian has got the O flying! :smileymudcats:

wonderful game - fantastic attendance --- players were unreal :smileymudcats: ...... and little league this morning was more than we could have asked for **** we need a little league icon****. I'd estimate 500- 800 in attendance for little league this morning. Great energy there - Stingrays were a top notch team to play and should be very proud. :smileystingrays: professional, respectful, kind and good players. It was a pleasure hosting this game.

Good to see you G. Thanks for all you guys do for the fans. Yesterday was a long but wonderful day. Our AIFA for kids little league was a huge hit in this town and people began arriving just after 7 a.m. --- these kids played their hearts out!
Florida should be proud of their players/coaches/staff. They have a great team and I hope that town supports them.
Hope all is well with you guys- thanks again for all your hard work.

Daily Journal article www.djournal.com/pages/story.asp?ID=270797&pub=1&div=SportsMudCats continue home domination 3/30/2008 2:52:57 AM Daily Journal BY JOHN L. PITTS Daily Journal TUPELO - The Mississippi MudCats got seven touchdown passes from Tommy Jones on Saturday night and rolled to a 72-27 win against the Florida Stingrays. The MudCats (2-0) are unbeaten in 11 games on their home turf at BancorpSouth Arena dating to last season. Florida fell to 0-3. "They're a better team than the final score indicated," MudCats coach Brian Brents said of the visitors. "They're going through a lot of personnel changes and they're going to get better." Brents and the MudCats visit the Stingrays on Saturday. Meanwhile, Jones has thrown for 14 TDs in two games this season. Four of his scoring tosses on Saturday went to Darryl Carter (26, 11, 33 and 48), and one each to Lemans Casimier (12), Josh Smith (46) and William Avery (29). Rico McDonald scored on a pair of short runs and defensive back Jonathan George returned an interception for another TD. The Florida team quieted the BancorpSouth Arena crowd of 2,658 a couple of times, especially when they pulled to within 11 points (36-27) early in the third quarter. But the MudCats responded with their third and fourth interceptions of the night - quickly following one with the 46-yard scoring pass to Smith and firing up the crowd again when George returned another for a 28-yard TD. It was the second interception of the night for George, who has four in two games. In between those turnovers, the Stingrays handed the ball over once on downs and once on a fumble. Like that, a close game turned into a 66-27 MudCats advantage. "You saw the game," said Stingrays receiver Kendall Newson, a former NFL receiver (three seasons with Miami) who caught his team's first touchdown and made several other big plays. "We've got a lot to work on." The home team put an exclamation point on late in the game by holding the Stingrays on four plays inside the MudCats 2-yard line, then Jones responded with a 48-yard flick of his wrist to Carter. Great game, and Florida played well except right at the end. Glad to hear this about the little league. Sounds like this may really take off. When is the coaches radio show? I would love to listen if I know a station and time. Well, we have 2 weeks of no home football games. Will the games be broadcast on the website? Any info would be much appreciated, and Go Cats!

There is now a live audio stream of the games on the internet. I spoke with the guys doing it last night (the first braodcast of the season). They seemed to have a few issues, but I believe it came through ok. It can be accessed from the main page of mississippimudcats.com.
