Has anyone heard of the booster club for the team doing a care package for the players. I know that where I used to live in Arkansas that the booster club for the Twisters provided a care package for the guys that came in. It consisted of pillow, linens, cups, plates, soap, etc. If anyone knows who I need to get ahold of to see about helping out or donating please let me know.

The answer is yes. When we had The Freeze Fanclub for the last 3 years. All money that came in went to care packages for the players, bus trip snacks, kicking tees, etc. It is an excellent idea, and the players truly appreciate the jesture.

Yes, that is a good idea some friends of mine do that for the hockey team, baseball teams, and basketball teams they actually take it to the next level with adopt a player, and take a player and his wife out for a outing somewhere with them or together with several. In Columbia they took it even to another level a welcome to Columbia VIP Package a box filled with coupons from local businesses, maps, and a few little incentives such as zoo tickets. It takes time but this is a great idea.
Another cool one Ive seen is a credit card wallet size called
Example; Florida Gator card -also works for high schools- it cost you say 25.00 but you can use it all year and the card is good a resturants, bars, and stores for discounts in return to be included on the card the business pays 200.00 each its a small way for fan clubs to make some bucks and sell the cards.
We played around one time with a joke we made tee shirts for high school I was with called the back of the teeshirt Hornetopoly modeled after Monopoly it was made up of many businesses and it raised 3900,00 in one printing. Shirts were paided for and were nice.

That is a good idea I may check on something like this here. As far as I know we don't have a fan club but might see about starting one this year but someone else would have to continue it next year since I maybe enjoying a year long vacation somewhere very warm with a lot of sand .

I like it! As long as the league doesn't have some rule against it. I mean with stuff liek the NCAA does to its players, I know its college but it is still a comparison, what is the milit if any what can be done? Does this go into consideration with a players pay or not?
I know it may sound like a dumb question, but just wanted to get that out.

The owners, coaches, and players are cool with it.
I'll give an example of what our fanclub did.
We bought drinks(gatorade, anergy drinks) for the bus. Snacks(muffins, nutrition bars, slim jims, donuts, etc) for the bus Water(Stubbyville had grey rusted water there) Kicking tee Cups and ice for practices shampoo, deoderant, and soap for the players Care package for the Chillers(glitter, body spray, girly stuff)
I'm sure there was more. That is off the top of my head. This was in addition to some charity 50-50's. And a 50-50 for the chain guy that broke his leg during a game.

Look the skys the limit with this my friends who do hockey tell me they would get local businesses to adopt a chore like one would provide cups for the year, another one ice and another one cakes and pies. Look cant every company breakout with a 10 grand sponsorship. The little people make it all worth while. Being in sales myself my smallest account means just as much to me as my biggest. They all come together united with one goal their love of sports and community.

The MudCats are organizing an "adopt a player" campaign and a Booster club to provide items for the players....
There are many things that can be done to support the team/players/coaches during the season and it's a great way to get the smaller industries involved.
this is going to be a great year - :smileymudcats:
