from www.mississippimudcats.comAnother MudCat Makes Big Jump to AFL Press Release November 5th 2007 (Tupelo, Ms) The MudCats are proud to announce that Linebacker Derrick White (6"3 240) has signed a contract to play for the Arizona Rattlers of the AFL. Derrick led the MudCats in tackles in 2007 with 127 complemented by a league leading 23.5 sacks. Derrick join the MudCats last season form the Georgia bulldogs were he was a standout Linebacker in 2004 after becoming a prep All American selection with over 100 tackles his senior year at Creek side HS in Union city, Ga just outside of Atlanta. Derrick is most known for his none stop motor one the field and superb pass rush skills. When asked about Derrick MudCats asst. coach Kirk Broussard said “Derrick is truly a diamond in the rough that has now shined through. He was the glue to our defense last year, I knew I had hit the jack pot when I found him during the recruiting process in the off season”. The MudCats kickoff the season in March 2008 season tickets are available by calling 662-8427448. I am excited for Derek! I hate that we will lose him, BUT he is a great athlete and a good guy that deserves the opportunity. He had a lot of penalties last season, but a good portion of those were because he is so quick getting across the line of scrimage. He will do well in the AFL. :smileymudcats:

Mississippi is the best out of all of the AIFA teams at releasing information about their players moving up, even if they might not have moved the most up.
