Former SEC Superstar Omarr Conner Signs with Mississippi MudCats
11/15/07 - American Indoor Football Association (AIFA) Mississippi Mudcats

( Tupelo , MS ) -The Mississippi MudCats of the AIFA announced that Wide Receiver/ Quarterback and Macon , Mississippi native Omarr Conner has signed with the team for the upcoming 2008 season.Conner (6'1"- 223 lbs) was named Mr. Football for Mississippi by the Jackson Clarion
Ledger in 2003 while playing at Noxubee County High School and taking them into playoffs.

He made an immediate impact for Mississippi State Football upon his arrival in 2003 and

became a factor from the outset in the Bulldog receiving corps and on special teams, later

moving to the quarterback position. While at Mississippi State , he played in 31 games with

21 starts for the Bulldogs accounting for 15 touchdowns and 2,732 yards. "I'm very exited about landing such a high profile recruit to our offensive arsenal, adding such

a lethal weapon like Omarr, should fuel the fire to what is already the AIFA's #1 ranked offense,"

said Coach Kirk Broussard, Offensive Coordinator.

So Tommy Jones won't be the Mudcats starting QB this season?

Conner can play either QB or reciever. He is an athlete. PLUS, his name will help fill a few extra seats. I personally do not if Tommy will be back. The nature of the game is to try to move up. I believe he enjoyed the area. If I am not mistaken, he is tight with Coach Brents. I hope he comes back!

I would like him to come back as well. But Conner would fill in nicely if Tommy leaves.

Either way - we are lucky to have the coaching staff and recruiting talent Brents and Broussard bring to the table. Together with the backing of Patterson - we will be a hard team to compete with.

Tommy Jones was awesome for the MudCats but the name of the game is to 'move 'em up' -- so we wish him the best with his career and would welcome him back with open arms.

Omarr is a great asset for the team.
