Another MudCat make the jump to AFL
11/05/07 - American Indoor Football Association (AIFA) Mississippi Mudcats
November 5th 2007 (Tupelo, Ms) The Mississippi MudCats are proud to announce that Linebacker Derrick White (6'3 240) has signed a contract to play for the Arizona Rattlers of the AFL. Derrick led the MudCats in tackles in 2007 with 127 complemented by a league leading 23.5 sacks. Derrick join the MudCats last season form the Georgia bulldogs we he was a standout Linebacker in 2004 after becoming a prep All American selection with over 100 tackles his senior year at Creek side HS in Union city, Ga just outside of Atlanta. Derrick is most known for his none stop motor one the field and superb pass rush skills.
When asked about Derrick MudCats asst. coach Kirk Broussard said "Derrick is truly a diamond in the rough that has now shined through. He was the glue to our defense this year, I knew I had hit the jack pot when I found him during the recruiting process in the off season".
The 2008 Mississippi MudCats kickoff their season in March. Season tickets and group tickets tickets can be purchased by calling 662-842-7448
