The Mississippi Mudcats defeated the Speed Saturday night 70-28(I am pretty sure that is right). However, the biggest news is that the Mudcat playoff games will be held in TUPELO MISSISSIPPI!!! About 5,500 people were at the game, so the Mudcat's owner got to keep his hair. HOWEVER THE PLAYOFFS WILL BE IN TUPELO MISSISSIPPI!!! Tell all of your friends to come to the game-lets pack the house!
P.S. Does anyone have an update on the elderly women who was carted off the field?

The league has adjusted the playoff format. Instead of the top 3 teams in each conference, the top 4 teams will make the playoffs. this means that the MudCats will (if they finish 1st in the conference) they will host the 4th seed in Tupelo. If the MudCats win that one, the conference finals will be in Southaven.

At least we'll be getting a playoff game in Tupelo. Right now if we played the #4 team in the southern division it would be the Speed that we destroyed 70-28 last night.

This rule change is better for the league. I don't mind them making this adjustment. Also, i believe all of the team owners apporved the change before it was put into effect.

here is another scenario for you, the previous setup for the playoffs would be that we got a bye in the first round then played the winner of the #2 and 3 game for the division title but with the new setup we will have to play an extra game that we should not have had to play in order to win the title so that is just another chance to have an off night like the one we had in carolina!!!

Doen't look like any of that matters anymore. You guys lost too Lakeland and now are in danger of losing the #1 seed. The Titans are tied for 1st place. The mudcats hold the tiebreaker over the Titans, but if you lose one more game and the Titans win out the Mudcats fall to #2.

With the season series at a split (1-1), it would be very interesting to see what would happen. That, of course, is if the Titans win this week over Lakeland, otherwise, with 1 more Mississippi win, they would clinch a home playoff game. A Titans win over Lakeland combined with a single Mudcats loss (if Lakeland can win out vs Speed and 2 vs Bears), and suddenly Tupelo might not see a single Playoff game this year.

So Lakeland would be #1 if they win out, Tallahassee #1 if they win out and Mississippi loses 1 game, and Mississippi #1 if they win out and Lakeland loses 1 game. Thanks for the info...always wondered what Tie Breaker #2 was (after head-to-head record).

From the Titans website: First Round Playoff Game will be Friday June 8th at the Leon County Civic Center at 7pm. Advanced tickets are on sale at the Titans office. The General public sale through ticket master starts Friday May 25th.
This sounded strange to me at first. The Titans, who are tied with the Mississippi Mudcats for 2nd in the South but trail in the tie-breaker, will be hosting a 1st-Round Playoff game. This is because, reportedly, the Mudcats requested to play their Playoff game (a home game) in a different arena due to some problems with their home arena. The league responded by saying that if the Mudcats were unable to host the Playoffs in their own arena, then they would forfeit the rights to host the Playoff game. And so the Tallahassee Titans and the Lakeland Thunderbolts, both Florida-based teams, will be hosting the 1st Round Playoff Games for the AIFA's South Division.
This ruling by the AIFA will be a HUGE help to the Titans organization. The money (and publicity) that the Titans bring in with a 1st Round HOME Playoff Game will help even more in keeping the Titans organization in Tallahassee for years to come. GO TITANS!
