Today I was looking at the Bears' chances at making the playoffs. I was looking at the Carolina Speed, the #4 seed right now, to see if it was possible to jump ahead of them. That's when I noticed that the Speed play 15 games this year, while the Bears play 14! What's up with that?
I figure with the best case scenario (the Bears winning out and the Speed losing out) the Bears would finish 7-7 while the Speed would finish 8-7. What would happen then?
I know I should probobly be worried about them beating Lakeland before all that, but I still couldn't help but to look into it.

That is something to think about. If that does happen then their will be a lot of angry Alabama citizens. I know I would be! :smileymudcats: :smileymudcats: :smileymudcats:

I know I definitely will be if that happens. Auburn was screwed over by the BCS in 2004, and now it's happening again! lol

Baltimore and Gulf Coast games do not count.

But both teams play Baltimore twice, and neither plays Gulf Coast.

I think I figured it out. On the schedule on the Speed's website, the 3/17 game with Huntington is labeled as a "Charity Game" and probobly doesn't count. The Speed won the game, too, so that takes away one of their wins. Now if all goes good, the Bears and Speed would both be 7-7.
But that poses another problem: They split the season series. (The Speed won the first and the Bears won the second.) Who would get the tiebreaker?
Sorry for all the questions, but when your team starts 0-6, you get pretty excited about the slightest chances at the playoffs.

In this scenario, it is a wash since they both played us twice and won, but the games against Baltimore do count in the standings. That was approved by the league several months ago.
Thanks,
John Wolfe General Manager Baltimore Blackbirds

In that case you would add up the scores between the two games and which ever team scored the most points would win the tie breaker.
Jim Who?

Hmm... Adding the scores it gives them an edge, 82-79... Darn. I guess there is no light at the end of the tunnel. And, yeah, I had Jim Mora in mind when I named the thread.
