The Montgomery Bears came out with some fire lastnight against Reading. I have to give it to them they are a good team with a bad record. The coach on the other hand made some calls that I didn't understand. #1 was right after we scored on a direct snap to the Rb the Bears attempted the same play on their very first play on their next posession. #2 was The Bears were down by 16 scored a Td and the offense stayed on the field thinking of course that they were going for 2. With about 3 mins left in the game that would have been the smart call but the coaching staff thought otherwise only going for 1 and then the onside which was returned for a Td. After the game talking to a few of the players they say that this is a normal occurance with this team. This is why I think that some owners should leave the coaching to the real coaches. If there is a Bears fan on here that has another opinion on this subject I would like to hear it.

I agree about the "going for 2 points" fact. I thought it was strange to kick the XP rather than go fo 2. The result was it made it a 3 score game for them rather than a 2........

:smileybears: Okay on behalf of my team I think that we area great team and I feel that we could have had a better season if it was not for the distraction that were around us. We are the worst backed team in the leageu and everybody knows it. Our own fans in Montgomery are even assamed to come watch us play. While other teams are playing in new built arenas with updated technology, uniforms that are of good quality, helemts and equipment funded by the owners, and the list goes on we have got nothing but headaches and humiliation. The first gaem of the season we had to borrow helemts from the other team so that we could play the game and the first game against miss was the first time we had pads. Our coaches aren't concerned with game planninig the wouild rather hurry practice through so they can go to golden carral after practice. We got two wins because we lucked up and beat a team worst than us and caught crolina on a losing streak. We went to Readings and got out worked and out coached. Dont get me wrong some of the guys on the team work really hard and I speak for myself personally. So of them come to practice with this I am not gonna do anything attitutde unitl game day. They fake injuries and pretend to be hurt unitl that THursday whe nthe dress roster is called out. Our team isa three ring circus and I wish that I could get out of it but I love the game to much to be a quiter. Oh yeah I almost forgot my game check bounced too. I had to add that in there! But on another not I do like the AIFA and what potential it brings to some teams and some players. I hope that Minks and Morris can get it together with the league and our team. We have somethign here in the GUmp and I would like for it to stay. So here are my suggestions for next year: 1. Get a new team name or add something to it: Black Bear, Scary Bears, something 2. Get rid of the fake GM that just came from Baltimore, his credentials don't pan out, because I have checked and it's a negative 3. Move us to the Mont. Civic Center for our home Arena 4. Get rid of a particular group of players and get some guys who are willing to work. Start by looking in outside of Mont. 5. Coaching staff has got to go! Fire them effective after the season! 6. FInd some neutral coaches from another area who are willing to coach the team. 7. Practice facility other than Robert Civil War Lee Hs 8. Pay CHaucny more and get her a real front office.

This post upsets me. This sounds like a player that wants to work hard and win. I agree without an Organization that will do the best it can for the players you will never get anywhere. Its ashame because I talked to some of the players and they are very frustrated to say the least. Just know that next year is another year and there are teams that need dedicated players if you are willing to travel. Some teams even help out with jobs while you are in their city for the season. Gl to this player that felt it necessary to post and the others that want ot work hard and play this game because they love it.

Well, since this thread was started the Bears have been on a tear and have won four of their last five games. The last two home games that I went to, vs Speed and vs Blackbirds, were very promising to me. They looked like a good team having a good time. It looked like they were turning around, and I would trade alot to see the season start over Saturday. All we can do is enjoy the football; the fans and the team.
Still, although I think we're mathematically eliminated from the playoffs at this point, the team and fans are walking on eggshells at every game, because we're not sure if the team will be here next season. The region is really great, and perfect for an indoor team. Seriously, everyone you ever talk to in Alabama is a huge football fan. And even though the Bears aren't Auburn or Alabama, we still love it. I just hope that the team will be here next year. It's full of great players and great fans in a great location.
