Gotta feel for the bears fans. They have to wait over a month till they get their 1st home game. Looks like their 1st 5 game or so will be on the road?

Not only does their schedule suck, so does their editor. When does the month of Mat occur?

Should have pushed the seaon back to March, they all knew this would happen with hockey teams and other schedule conflicts. Tallahassee will be the same way, they reportedly got no February dates from their arena.

I'd call that torcher. Not fair to the fans of Montgomery. at least they get a majority of the end of the year home for the playoff race.

I would agree with that though with the way our hockey team is always in the post season i dont know that it would make much of a difference. But, it couldnt hurt to push the season back a bit and see what happens overall......

They've got to get the season out of the way so they can cash in on that big payday from Florence.

They've got to get the season out of the way so they can cash in on that big payday from Florence. Starting early... but not really ending early. One of Hodas' big gripes when we took him to Rochester was that our season runs too late; he wanted to finish before the weather broke. Well, with 4 bye weeks (at least) for everyone, starting on Super Bowl weekend kinda defeats the purpose. You're still ending the reg. season first week of June, and playoffs will stretch through to the end of the month. Our reg. season ends June 23rd... so what's the real difference?

I have no problem with starting early. I would have pushed it back to the weekend AFTER Super Bowl though.
You want to try and cash in on the football void by starting early. But, you've also got to finish early.
I understand Dave Hodas concern. You're always going to have the die hard fans, but you can attract hockey, basketball & baseball fans. No one wants to spend a day inside after spending all winter inside ... especially in Erie where a foot of snow is nothing.
I know we keep saying, "Next year they'll get it together." But, next year comes and we deal with the same stuff. Thursday games, multiple bye weeks, one home game in two months. I really want to give Morris & Minks a fair shot, but we're still getting over our burn injuries from the last two years.

I think Tallahassee's home arena is also the home of the FSU Basketball teams.
