Look out AIFA....this could involve you (or not). I have no evidence, and have not been able to contact the Titans myself, but the Titans website ( www.TallahasseeTitans.com ) is reporting that a "Surprise announcement [is] coming soon." What could this mean? Well, with the basic folding of the World Indoor Football League (down to the Titans and 1 other team who, reportedly, will not play in 2008), here's what I'm expecting to hear (again, no facts/evidence behind it, only opinion): -The Titans have found someone to invest in the team, purchasing a good amount of it (or all of it, though I doubt the team will be completely sold) -The Titans will return to the AIFA for the 2008 season Just my interpretation of the message on the team's site (again, no facts/rumors involved). Drew, I got the same impression when I read that message. Using the process of elimination of the WIFL and the fact that the only other league that fits our travel budget, the AIFA is the only league we could possibly play in.
Another thing why would the Titans say suprise announcement coming soon. I'm pretty they are not going to give us bad news. It has to be good news. An Investor has been found. I believe it is Mark Brammer a former NFL player, who has been negotiating with Dave Morris for the past three weeks.

Well, right below it, it says "Are you ready for the 2008 season?" so, unless this is a cruel prank where the answer is "you may be, but we're not....good luck", the Titans are saved.

Well, as optimistic as I've been, the Tallahassee Civic Center (the Titans home arena) is not so optimistic. I went in there no more than 45 minutes ago, and they have little hope in the Titans returning for 2008. They, apparently, spoke with Coach Jackson about an hour before I got there, and he was not optimistic either. Though neither the person that I had spoken to nor Coach Jackson (according to the person I spoke with) knew about the website posting. I don't know what to think now...though I will remain optimistic and hopeful that the Titans return in the spring (hopefully in the AIFA).

I talked to coach Jackson about a week ago and he basically told me that he knew nothing. He said he wasn't sure what was going to happen. They aren't telling him much. This former NFL player Mark Brammer that was said to be interested in team seems pretty true, but maybe Dave Morris is just saying that to buy time with the Civic Center. When he missed the deadlne to pay that money back he could have said anything to get them off his back about the money.

Or maybe, just maybe, they will be playing football in 08. Stranger things have happened... I guess.
