Titans' coach: Two Thumbs Up February 14, 2007
Coaches are typically critical of their team's performance. But after the Tallahassee Titans won their first game ever on Monday, 62-44 at Carolina, coach Keven Jackson was pleased with how his team played. "Overall, it was great," Jackson said on Wednesday. "The whole team did wonderful. If we had beat them by one point I would have been happy because it was our first game." Jackson praised his offense, which scored 48 first-half points, and the mobility of former Florida A&M quarterback Ben Dougherty, who had six passing touchdowns and two more on the ground. Former Rattler Rod Miller had 110 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while James Jackson had a TD run. The defense had five interceptions, but Keven Jackson said players missed too many tackles. And the special-teams units are still a work in progress. "This is a lot of guys' first experience with arena football," Titans offensive coordinator David Kelly said. "For our first game, we did a great job."
