Titans lose early signee By Bob Ferrante One of the Tallahassee Titans' first signees is no longer on the team.
Wide receiver Brandon McDowell, a three-year arena football veteran, is now playing for the Titans' first opponent, the Carolina Speed. “We'll see him Monday night,” Titans coach Keven Jackson said.
McDowell caught 70 passes for more than 900 yards and 20 touchdowns for the Florence (S.C.) Phantoms in 2005.
He and former Florida A&M quarterback Ben Dougherty had signed with the Titans on Oct. 5.
Inactive Lamar Hughes, John Peacock, Greg McNeary, Terah Ward and Larry Williams have been placed on the injured reserve by the Titans.
For the kids Titans owner David Morris has donated 800 tickets for each home game to grade-school students and youth charities in the Big Bend.
The Titans have sold about 1,500 season tickets, team officials said Tuesday.
On the radio All 14 Titans games can be heard on WHBX (96.1 FM) and WUTL (106.1 FM).
Jackson will have a coach's show each Thursday night from various Tallahassee restaurants during the season. The first will be Thursday at the Silver Slipper. Each show can be heard on 106.1 FM.
