I was just browsing through other indoor football league sites (yes other indoor leagues exist!) and came across the newest addition to the CIFL. The Flint Phantoms play in Flint, MI. I was just wondering if the AIFA trademarked or copyrighted the name Phantoms? I mean wouldn't the Flint Phantoms be illegal anyway? I mean its another indoor football team with the same name... just wondering. What's your input on things like this. Btw, thier logo is a spitting image of the AIFA's Phantoms too. www.flintphantoms.com/

Doubt this is an issue. You don't see Indianapolis suing Augusta, Detroit suing Columbus, or New Orleans suing Utah. Last year both the AIFA and the CIFL had the Thunder.

Maybe if they had totally ripped off the logo.....This one is similar but not identical.
And it would be virtually impossible for so many sports teams, both major and minor league, to steer totally clear of each other in regards to sharing nicknames. It's just bound to happen sooner or later.

We changed our logo enough so there is not any resemblance to Indianapolis. There is an NAFL team here in town that is actually using the EXACT logo of an NFL team.

It won't be an issue. Simply because it's retarded to throw a lawsuit at another league just because they use the same team name. It's not worth the hassle.
