I wish I knew about this beforehand. I could have posted this to inform players that read the boards about tryouts.
PHANTOMS HOLD FIRST TRYOUT
20 Oct. 2007: The Florence Phantoms held their first tryouts today at The Byrnes School. Close to 30 players showed up to test themselves for the new coaching staff.
“We were impressed with the athletic ability of some of the men who came out. It gives us an idea of the talent that is in the Pee Dee area.†says new head coach Carlos Clayton. “Having the majority of our players from the Florence area is important to our organization. It helps build a relationship with our fans on more of a personal level.â€
The Phantoms will be scheduling another tryout session in the near future. “We have not yet decided on our second try out date. I fully expect it to be in the coming weeks.†says General Manager Dennis Smith.
