Well, well, well Mr. Christner since I was unable to post to your website I took the message to the game. That message being in the form of a sign reading "WE NEED A NEW OWNER NOT A NEW TEAM". Turns out a local news station was there along with the local newspaper. During a brief interview, and nearly crapping myself, I had the opportunity to tell the other side of the story. I was able to tell about the players not getting paid, the school bus rides to PA and the lack of effort from the owner. They then interviewed the owner and of course he played it off that the fans will blame the owner when things aren't going good and that is part of being an owner. Well if that is part of being an owner then quit being a tit-baby and open up the team's message board. To the team, referees and staff thanks for the comments about the sign, it was nice to know it was well received. To the player who tossed me the last ball, I apologize for not remembering who it was, thank you. I hope to see the team again next year. Sorry I can't make it on Saturday, gotta make money.

emtp82,
True to my word I did not go last night but I am curious how many people were there? the parking lot looked half empty when I drove by. Glad you took the sign and maybe the news station will call it like it is, not the christner side that shows him being a victim.

The crowd sucked as to be expected for a Thursday game. The news actually showed both sides of the story for the most part. It wasn't just an interview with the owner. Of course like I said Christner tried to play it off like it was nothing.

When I saw it on the news, I had a feeling it was you.
Great sign.

Went to the game (had a free ticket) and just about gagged! These "players" sucked. It would've been much worse had Canton not made a few errors early on or if they woould've stayed with the starters the whole game (which most teams have done all year). And Willie's coaching? Or lack of it?? Terrible!!! Get Christner out of town!!!!

yeah there was several big plays that were fouled up that could have led to a TD. Demo55fan how did you like Christner's response? Load of crap or what?

Hey emtp82...... loved the sign. Saw the news reel.....Christner sounded like his dumbass self. You think being a buisness man he would have more people skills ...... I've heard better interviews from high school kids. As for willie davis...... he sucked just as he did when he was playing. No passing td's in an arena football game? Not to mention i've seen most of those players playing at the park on saturdays with thier semi-pro pick up games...... I thought he was trying to put a better "product" on the field. Scratch him and the demolition and lets start fresh next year with a new team and a new owner (thats not broke) and a new league (that doesnt have 2 fat slime balls that probably never played a sport in thier lives). Nothing but 2 cent crooks here. EMTP82.......again i applaud you. The sign was great

thank you. To think non of this would have happened if they would have just let me post on the boards, but noooooooo now there was an interview (which every comment wasn't shown) and it was even in the newspaper. Which in the long run turned out to benefit the team I think, because now everyone atleast had the opportunity to hear a different take on the team rather than just the owner's opinion.

I agree that the owner usually takes the blame for most everything since it always falls on their lap in the end. But I think its time the b.s. stops in Danville. As someone who attends Danville games and has a more inside track on what has been happening that 99.9% of the people in Danville. Here is what has really happened.
The bus incident was the owner screwing up. He made a mistake in booking to late and it bit him in the butt.
One time a few of the players checks bounced but he made them all good as soon as he got into town and it only happened once.
The lack of efford from the owner is complete crap. The former coach who had no business coaching a pro indoor football team is a complate a'hole. He never took the time to put together a good team. Did not want to take the time to practice and put nothing into getting ready for games. He is a good high school coach but that definately does not make you a good indoor coach. He was lazy and instead of placing blame on himself he placed all blame on the owner. Most of the things that have been said about the owner are false and can be proving false.
The owner did a great thing in firing Luke. He was a horrible coach and leader at this level. Then he released all the players because they had been filled with so much crap from the coach that they didnt really have a clue what was going on. He should have done this two months ago. The players on the field last week were not any better or worse than the guys that were released.
To say the owner is broke is hilarious! The guy is loaded! Do your homework and you would see that he is not hurting financially at all! He has more than one business and they are very successful. This particular business did not do well because it was doomed from the start.
Don't believe me, dive further into everything and you will see that 99% of the crap that comes out of Coach Lukes mouth is nothing but a crock of crap...crock of crap is also a great way to describe the guy as a person also....no worthless describes him better than that!
Even if you don't have new owners next season it will be a much better year either way!
Ok, continue whining about stuff you really know nothing about now.

All your points are well noted however i think you gotta understand that the fans, as consumers, will complain, gossip and toss rumors around till a team official comes out to clear the air. The approach of not getting word out to the fans and making the erratic moves such as they did could only lead to alot of what has been said within this thread. I did know about the bus ordeal too. Glad to hear that the players have reportedly been paid as well. As far as their head coach and the releasing of the players its understandable if it happened for the reasons you stated. Hopefully Danville will return next season as well as their fans.

Aiflfan22---- You said you have more of an inside track than most people just out of curiousity what is your relationship to the team/owner?

Aiflfan22---- You said you have more of an inside track than most people just out of curiousity what is your relationship to the team/owner? I hear everything that goes on and both sides of the story from the owners and players. After sitting back and taking it all in, I think the owner has taken way more heat than he should have. The only thing he did not do right was fire the coach and cut certain players a long time ago. If the coach would have been canned a long time ago this season would have been much more enjoyable for not only the team but for the fans.

Wow...alright bud. So, you've heard both sides of the story, so that makes you an insider? You know, I really don't appreciate you coming here and telling everyone else they don't know what they're talking about. So since I have to defend myself....although I was not there, I do have an idea of what I'm talking about. My social studies teacher as well as my football coach was the former center for Danville. But, since you know it all...I have some questions: Since you're all for defending John Christner... and claim only "one" check bounced....why was at one point, he owed the team $16,000? That's ONE check? The players have said they have had SEVERAL checks bounce. Of course he's paid up now...he doesn't want to get embarassed on television anymore. Maybe you can answer this: Why were the Demolition kicked out of the hotel they were staying in? Was that all Coach Luke's fault too? Or maybe it was the effing owner WHO NEVER PAID?!?! Coach Luke never wanted to put in the time and effort at practice? Maybe that was because they didn't have a PLACE TO PRACTICE? Unless, Danville's high school practice field is a place to practice. And talk about never taking the time to do things..why not bring up the front office who refuse to answer e-mails or update the website? Or maybe, just maybe, TALK TO THE PLAYERS ONCE IN AWHILE? THe players asked on several occasions to talk to John...and he would then leave. He would never pay them in person..just leave the checks in the locker because he didn't want to see the players, or the check wasn't paid in full. And he released the players because he could not afford (or want to afford) to pay them. Do you find it weird that all the players released had played Division 1 football? And what about the players now? They're playing for free so they can get game film of themselves so they can send it to other indoor teams when they actually tryout. To make the statement that the players out there last week were no different, is completely ridiculous. I don't know if you like making statements without thought, or lack information about football....but having good players on your team is a good thing. This business was NOT doomed from the start. It had some pretty good support considering the lack of promotion. Maybe you also want to ask your buddy John why I never received the jersey I ordered. I finally was told last week that I would get a refund (after I called an e-mailed 20 times) I dunno if Coach Luke had maybe done something to you personally...or if you work at the front office........but your statement is just laughable.

Very funny I might add. When you get done with your homework tonight go do your real homework on why this team is in the shape its in. Coach Luke is a lazy SOB! Thats the bottom line. He could have been given an indoor facility that equals that of the Bears and he still would have not done crap! Most coaches work to better their teams not rely on the office staff to find them better players. He would walk in and walk out like he was some type of God and we should all kiss his feet. He needed to have his bald fat butt fired a long time ago! I didnt say only one check..only once did checks bounce and he took care of that. They NEVER totaled 16k! Not even close. What about the hotel..hey call the hotel and ask them. Funny thing, you will hear a completely differently story that you were told by your high school history teacher who could not even snap the ball on shotgun properly 50% of the time. He should have been gone a long time ago. I looked at the roster, not many with D1 experience. A few, but less than most teams at this level. But hey, you know it all because you heard it from your high school history teacher. He released the players and the coach because he was tired of putting up with there small town mentalities. Your coach is a white trash bald piece of crap who couldnt handle it at this level and never had the guts to admit it. Maybe you should have walked into the office and asked the owner face to face why you did not get your jersey? This team was doomed from the start. Its in a dirty gross disgusting town who would not know something good was happening if it came up and bit them in the butt. The smartest people in that town MOVE OUT after they graduate. I have spent numerous days in that city since last July and can tell you one thing...if you dont have a crack pipe in your back pocket, you must be from out of town. The town never had any business playing host to a pro indoor football team. Best thing ownership can do is pack up everything and head to a real town in Illinois or Indiana and set up shop. So, yes it is safe to say after reading your post..that I definately have a better inside track on everything. But hey you are a high school kid who believes everything that comes out of the mouth of his history teacher..who hopefully never teaches how to play the line or snap the ball!

Did he not check out the town before he put the cash on the table for the team? And jee, if Luke is such a lazy, S.O.B....what's that make Christner? Who's never around? I just find it down-right funny that someone would defend John Christner. After he's been embarassed on the news, then looked like an idiot because he lied to the news reporter (Christner-lying-NO WAY!!) you think his fanbase would be gone. (Or at least be smart enough to not support him on a message board) Maybe you are Christner? Maybe you're his lap dog Brammer? Tell you one thing...you might want to get off your knees and let Christner get back to work. God knows he has enough distractions. Oh and one last thing: What the hell have you ever done with your life? Please enlighten us on how great of a player or a indoor football coach you were. Unless you can prove you're a professional ball player-I suggest you shut the hell up and quit dissing on guys who can actually play football. And if you hate Danville so much...why don't you get the hell out? Maybe even do us all a favor and leave this board? Don't let the door hit you in the ass.
