O.K. Let me get this straight. The Demolition arent folding. If they arent that is really good to hear. If they are then this "shady" owner might get some unwanted non-fans.  Hopefully they correct things and show up in Reading on June 2nd. Mink & Morris, you are being paged! |

Alright enough said on this subject. I hope you and your officers gl and I am glad that you are back to help out the Express. Till i find quality people who are qualified to run the club and share the vision and want to be the best i will run this club solo. Last year was the roughest cause it was also our inaugural year. There were alot of things that had to be worked out as well as learning as we went along. No one was perfect last season and improvement was needed all around both individually and as a group. My main thing is shielding those that are gonna be on the board from any work or stress that may be related to those respective positions, as i attemtped to do last season. For now, I have enough people within the membership who have offered to unselfishly provide me with any help needed. More willing members are on the horizon and are always welcomed. As we continue to grow and mature as a Fan Club we will get things 100% right........ |

That is good for the Fan Club. And yes you did say that they DO need a week off. If you played any sport at all in your days you know that it is hard to not have any time off. And as far as the fan club, I did care but the same thing happened this year that happened last year. You want help with everything but you want to be the only one in the loop of things and that doesn't work for most of us. You will find some mongrle like Joe found in Scooter and then they can be your little puppy dog that will follow you around and obey every one of your orders but I have more pride in myself and the relationships I have made with the guys on the team that you will never understand. So as far as the fan club good luck and I am glad you are getting support on this and the main reason I think that you are getting more people to sign up is uh maybe 2nd year they guys are tearing it up. And there are more fans coming to the games! So next time you want to stab someone give them the heads up so they can get out of the way. First off. I'm not Hitler with my fanclub. And no one is my puppy dog. It is because of fan clubs in this league that will keep this league intact. Not the neigh-sayers who say they will help and don't. The one's who(pun intended) want to ride on the train without doing a dam thing. If you had one little incling what we do as a fanclub, and behind the scenes above and beyond a fanclub. You would eat your freaken words. So, next time you want to mention myself or Scooter, understand all that we do. Hell, you wouldn't even have this message board without us FAB members. |

I think the misunderstanding here is that some of these people think that they can just join the board, make changes and spend money as they wish. The fact is they are not entitled to everything and must understand that being part of a fan club is an unselfish act. I spend hours upon hours per day designing graphics, forms, letters, contacting potential sponsors and answering emails. Botomline is, whoever owns the club is the boss and has final say and if it is a voting membership then overall they have the say. Joe, you do way more in the way of help at the practices and showing up at the off the field events than i do. With my 3rd shift schedule i cant really do the off the field stuff and as far as practices go i wouldnt go if i could cause i am just superstitious that way. To each his own.
I just hope that future board members both in the Express Fan Club and other clubs understand that your not there to be in the limelight or take over and do things your way. There are alot of things going on behind the scenes that go unnoticed and that arent able to be openly discussed. Things should be collectively developed, approved and run as a group. We didnt have that in Reading last season but i hope to have it in future ones. And i hope that both existing & future fan clubs have learned from some of our past mistakes so they can have a smoother transition and have a better chance to succeed.
Anyone out there looking to start a club, i as well as Joe and Ron are here to help you along your way.
As far as this board, yes it is a privelege that we all can come on here and chat. Joe and i started this thing and it was originally just going to be the Fan Advisory Board but we decided to open it up to all the GREAT fans of the AIFA. It is a very successful and fun board and i love every second that i spend on it and hope that you all feel the same way too. We do what we can to make it an enjoyable experience and are always open to suggestions as to improvements or addons from our members.

Well doesn't that just blow donkey d!*ks. I just got home from working 57hrs straight in hopes of seeing some decent news and I read this. That just blows. Again something positive for Danville and it caves. I read their website about not caving in and still going to be here. Who is going to believe them now? First off I have to say sorry Joe for my comments. Talking without thinking. Just venting off. I have much respect for you even though that comment didn't display it. That was a  of a comment. There is alot of things that go on behind the scenes I understand that but the ones that help out don't want to be behind a curtain with earmuffs on either. Like I said before I give you nothing but Good Luck to the ExpressFans and hope this time around you can make it work alot better Gene. I think that we didn't quite get the ball rolling quick enough last year and that could have very well been alot of my frustration. And as for the comment of the fans that are just riding on the train, I have been on the train from day one myself and Ron were one of the very first season ticket holders and I intend to stay one as long as they are here in Reading. Again I am truely sorry Joe I was  on the comment and I appreciate this board and all the guys that keep it running. |

At 10pm they are supposed to be interviewing players. If Willie Davis is the new coach then this would almost confirm the semi pro replacements from Kankakee i think this is where Willie is from. I hate to say it but I have been predicting internal destruction for a few weeks now. Unfortunatly with the current owners in place things will never change. If ownership can change then Danville will jump back behind this team.

I thought there was a May 17th deadline for roster changes (not that it really matters).
Personally, I'd consider the Demolition the first casualty of the AIFA. Basically, it'll be the Canton Legends vs. The Columbus Blackbirds (complete with index card plays).

From the Demolition website and a guy named "Timmy": yea, there have been some problems with the management but thats not all of it. the coaches didn't give a crap. practice was worthless when we did have it, we wouldn't get calls when we were having practice. coach would tell us one thing and tell the office something else. our practice was worthless. we didn't do any cardio, any endurance drills, nothing. all we did was throw the ball around and practice our 4 plays. i was ready to quit because i was tired of losing. management and coaching sucks. we have lost 10 games. i just want to play football. as far the players being treated like crap. there were players threating league officals and trying to start fights. players would screw up the hotel and destroy property. some would get a inch and take a foot, then pregnant dog that it wasn't a yard. did you know we even had a player pissed because the office staff wouldn't let him spend the night in the office? it does suck that we wernt paid and thats johns fault but at least he has made right. he needs to sell the team to someone who can be here and cares more but we also need coaches that care. Isn't it intersting that right after that post, public writing was disabled AGAIN?  Well here's one for you...I checked the roster from the whole year... NO TIMMY!!! I happen to know many of the players and all of the coaches and I know that to a man, they don't blame the coaches. In fact, when practice began and players reported, the owner hadn't even made arrangements for a PLACE TO PRACTICE and had no turf(or equipment). Several of the players and the coach had to go to Peoria to pick it up when it was finally purchased (OVER A WEEK LATER). The turf (which came in the day before the first home game and two weeks after the season started) was laid down finally by the coaches and players...REAL CLASS!!!! The coach (who didn't care supposedly) made arrangements to do at least some limited practice in a cramped, hardfloor field house at his high school so they could get some work done. He got this done free of charge and it's a good thing he did because the owner didn't do anything (and wouldn't have paid if it cost bucks)! Didn't care?? I'll tell you something Timmy! This guy's a Danville guy and HE CARES!!!!! Where are you from Timmy??? John's house??? Or are you John? Or Willie??? Cardio??? Man, half the team quit showing up when "John" got behind on the pay. If you played, you know that. Cardio??? Hey Timmy,, Maybe if he didn't call YOU it's cause he really didn't want YOU there....Ever think about that??? Maybe the team was better off then without YOU just like they are now that you've "jumped ship"!!! Hey! Did "John" ask you to come back? ? Hey Timmy! Were you one of the "lucky" 18 players the coach was told he could ONLY suit up in the last home game? How do you run a team that way? Made it right??? He's got 36,000 people in this town and many more in the county/area to make it right to! HE AIN'T EVEN CLOSE TO MAKING IT RIGHT YET!!!!!! |

By the way "Timmy"... You're right,, Why should a player (you're talking about #32) get upset (pissed as you put it) about not being able to sleep in the office? I mean, so what if he got locked out of his room at the hotel because "John" didn't pay the bill?? And so what if that was after he had already been told he would have to leave the hotel before for the same reason, and stay at the local "dive" with the the roaches? Should he be upset about being told he would have to leave the office and go find his own place in the middle of the night??? NO WAY... Especially after being treated so well and getting all those checks he got to deposit AT LEAST TWICE!!! By the way, I heard that after that incident, the "non-caring coach" got his brother to take #32 in to his home so he could keep his job that the "non-caring coach" had landed for him... Man, when you grow up. I hope you're as "non-caring" as your coach!

I just can't believe this happened. Last night he was calling players in one by one...and my coach was the second one in his office. He told the owner that if he's gonna do this...he needs to be a man and address the whole team. And then...for this guy to have the nuts to ask some of the players to rejoin? BTW...either all the players get to come back, or I don't think any of them will. It's about loyalty. Also, this bastard owner stole $53 from me. I ordered a jersey on March 29th. I called last night..(before everyone was released) and a lady told me she was looking into it because she felt bad. Now...the reason why I bought the freaking thing...is no longer a member of the team. Can't believe it. What a waste of my time. Did you pay with a credit card? If so, call your credit card company and dispute the charge since the merchandise was never delivered. You will get your money back from your credit card company. If you need any help, PM me. |
