I forgot to mention, I was ecited to hear about the tailgate last saturday before the game but then I pulled up on front of the arena and counted 10 people there of those 10 I think 6 were vendors. What a shame. Again this was announced 1 1/2 days before the event only on the message boards not anywhere in town that I heard.

Just to say- The Mudcats also advertise like the Express, except maybe for ESPN Radio. And guess what-the Mudcats and Express seam to be getting high dividends from it money and record wise. Hopefully other teams will do the same! :smileymudcats: :smileymudcats: :smileymudcats:

Yeah, teams need to do more, and that's not just an AIFA problem.

I hope somebody who cares buys the team and moves it to the CIFL next year. Then travel can be easier.

You're assuming Chicago stays and Springfield doesn't fold (they're drawing worse than you).

I guess it was a blessing in disguise when Springfield bolted the AIFA for the CIFL.

There are a couple of guys who go regularly, I go religiously. You would think having a positive activity in a community of negativeness the city would help promote the heck out of it. The tailgate party was a bust maybe because it was only promoted on the team's message board and only 2 days in advance. Heck if a city doesn't know they have a football team they sure don't know it has a website.
To go along with the ownership comment, I forget which game it was, but the owner was going to make the team take a SCHOOL BUS to PA because of lack of transportation preparation on his part. Atleast Erie got a limo for some of their players.

Although this hasnt been a great season record wise I think if you look at the stats we have the #2 rated defense in the league and the top pass defense in the league Danville offense is only averages 13 points A GAME which is a reason why were struggling and were 1-7 the team do plan on coming back and you can expect for #3,#11,#50,#6and#5 to return and dominate on defense again unless we sign arena 1 personally I love playing in danville and im only 22 so this is the start of my football career but #15 is starting at qb and I #3 promise we will win tom!!!! Also the owner has hired a marketing team to promote the team in the area and he has assured players that the team will stay in danville next season, also we will contend for a championship next season, and if not for some refs making horrible calls reading wasnt a better team the us, they were just helped out a little!!! but big dawg IM WATCHING YOU!!!

demo fan #3, Another game passes and the supposed #2 rated defense in the league gives up 70 again at home. After last nights game I have decided I will not waste my money for the final home game against canton just to see 70 points scored again and the Demolition get blown out. This has gotten to a point as a fan it is a disgrace and I can only imagine how discouraged the players are with getting beat week after week, If I were a player and the ownership was not dedicated to a better product on the field I would demand a trade or just leave. (my ownership comment is based on lack of improvement of the overall product on and off the field so far this season.) It is easy to blame officials for calls and the outcome of games the point is every game I have seen this season the Demolition have been outplayed and plain beat. The officiating has very little to do with that. Calls go your way then they go the other way you just adapt and move on. As far as ownership saying the demolition will be back next season. Do you in your rite mind thank that if they werent comming back they would tell you now? Fact is if they tell you now a dismal season becomes a junk season because the players then will just roll over and play dead (which they have started to do already by their perfromance last night) As far as a marketing team to promote the team in the arena that is great for the people who already know about you and the team but what about the people who dont know or havent come to a game yet because they havent heard about the dates or times. The appearance you guys did at the sub shop was on ly posted on the Demolition website which is junk and I didnt go to it but I am guessing that you had 2 people show up at it. Their needs to be a focus on marketing outside of the arena to everyone not just the people who make it to the games on a regular basis. No advertising decreased attendance, More advertising increased attendance. Wonder which one brings in more money. Leading upto last nights game I heard 1 ad for the game all week. This team has no future with the current management/ownership structure from what I have seen. Granted I am just a fan but I have been around sports since I was a kid and anyone with a mind for business sees they have absolutly no clue how to put on a sporting event. Summary Danville averaging 25 points per game Opponants averaging 50.22 points per game Difference 25 points per game How does any team expect to win or compete when they are averaging being doubled up every game. This go to show that there is either a severe lack of talent on the danville team, bad coaching or lack of effort from the team. It gets to a point where you feel bad for some of the players who are trying and who care about their careers and football. Oh yeah #3 you said "I #3 promise we will win" As a recomendation on a now 1-8 team it is not good to make promises. I hope the city of Danville does not get by these guys just trying to make a quick buck which they obviously are not doing by the decreasing attendance and quality on the field.

Slow down there bud. I understand last nights game was tough to watch but lets cut the team a little slack here. This is our FIRST year in the league. 85% of the team had no clue on how to play arena football when they started this year. I know they are struggling...but what first year team doesn't struggle, in any sport? They are trying to improve. The new QB is a step up, even though he had an off game last night. Oh and lets not forget that Huntington isn't a bad team. They were fired up and have some very quick WR's. Go Demolition!

Losing a number of games...a fair excuse for a new team (though Colorado in the UIF...a much tougher league than the AIFA...just pantsed title contender RiverCity 31-6)...getting doubled up on average? Bad management. Teams in the AIFA aren't that good.

Demo55fan, Cut the team some slack, I have cut them some slack as a fan for 9 weeks worth of games now. They have only defeated the 3rd worse team in the league by 3 points then even including the win they are averaging being doubled up every game. Excuses because of being an expansion team is a load of garbage. Look at in the AIFA Titans 8-2, mudcats 10-1, speed 6-5, riverrats 5-5. The Blackbirds are another story like Danvillebut atleast in reading the posts from their GM they are atleast trying to make changes for the better. The only change Danville has made is the QB he is good I will give him that but 1 player doesnt make the team. The O-line is slow and under sized (muscle wise) 300lbs of mass doesnt do much with no muscle mass, D-line is decent but a little undersized. The Fact that people (fans, ownership , players) use the officiating and first year team excuse burns my rear. I understand by your screen name you probably are close to number 55 but lets be real here how many years has it been since he graduated College? No offense to him because from what I hear he is a great person but he graduated ISU in 2003 i think that meens he probably hasnt played competativly in over 3 years or more. Now please do not see this as an attack on him because it is not intended to be. Tony is one of the better linemen on the demolition in my eyes. Using this as an example how many other guys on the team are in the same boat. Here are suggestions to help the Demolition atleast gain some credability going into the last month of the season. 1- Find someone with indoor experience to bring on the coaching staff and Have Coach Luke actually listen to their advice. AIFA is a ton different then HS football. 2- Advertise in paper and on more then 1 radio station. With a month between home games you will loose a ton of interest because of the distance between teams so the fans in danville wont travel to the away games to keep tabs on what is going on 3- Try to make beneficial changes in the roster to show the fans you are trying to get better. O-line is a key 4- update your website. In a technological world like we live in the web is the easiest and cheapest way to communicate with thousands of people in a minutes time. 5- final game is on a thursday night, your game will probably be a lower attendance night anyway why not do a fan appreciation night? some kind of special ticket promotion buy 1 get one free or half off, etc. Along with special give aways. Just a few suggestions. Rather then trying to make excusses try to give ideas for this team which curretly is a joke to try and gain a little credability across the AIFA and with the Danville Fans that dont know any of the players. (P.S. I think ownership plays a huge role in this and with neither owner from Danville they have no clue how to relate to the people here and I dont know if they have any desire to either)

Intrestedobserver I do understand your frustration, Im very much tried of losing but what can I do quit? our defense gave up points but when the team gets the ball three times inside the 5 is it that hard to get points? listen we have a handfull of players who play the game with emotion, others are just going through the motions!!! I do want to win in danville thats why I havent asked to be traded because I personally think if we can get a good squad together we can help uplift the community by providing something postive for people to do?. Personally I have never been apart of a losing program and it hurts that everyone doesnt want to turn things around!!! Personally I feel we have a good core of players to compete we just need to score more points!!! and play better on defense by causing more turnovers to help give our offense good field position. I do take a blame in how we played on defense last night but I can't make everyone play with passion thats on the individual!!! Listen if you dont want to spend your money to watch us play, I understand but give us a chance, we do have players who want to win and are going to keep fighting. It speaks on some players character that after ever game we have coaches asking us to join there program and to leave danville. We do have quality players on our rosters who are among the league leaders in various stats.I have a question have you ever played football at a high level??? or a you just speaking from a fan perspective??? listen next season will be totally different from new management, Coaches, And players so just understand I feel and understand your pain but true fans do stick by there teams through thick and thin. so are you a true demolition fan? or a you just coming to watch? theres a difference I hope you understand

demolition #3,
I understand your passion and you do have options if you see fellow team mates not performing or having issues, those options are 1- Go to coaching staff and ownership and let them know this person is a cancer to the teams moral and they need to be replaced to help the organization further it self (if you cant talk to the coach or owners in this capacity they obviously do not respect the players on the team), 2- ask to be traded or 3- worst case if the team coaching staff and ownership dont care about the team as it appears to the fans then quit and let your contract expire. I am sure there is an out clause somewhere in your contract.
As I have said many times I am comming from a fan perspective. I have followed sports from Baseball to football and others on minor and top pro levels for severl years now. I played football up through my first 2 years of college then gave it up due to injury. As far as next year, New Management, Coaches etc. Are you telling me the 2 owners now are gone for next year? If I am not mistaken from what I have heard the John Christner guy is the majority owner and the other guy John ? from Ryan's steak house is the minority owner, is this currently correct? Are you telling me both are gone after this season? If the new management involves either one of these guys i fear you will suffer the same fate. Coaching, BJ luke coaching accounts for about 1/4 of you crowd each night because he coaches the local HS and all the players, boosters and parents from the HS team come to see his team play. Are you telling me he is out as well? How do we know this is not all talk?
You ask am i a true fan or just someone that goes to games, Well here is how I see this scenario after just 9 games it is hard for anyone that doesnt know anyone directly affiliated with the demolition or the guy that won the name the team competition to call themselves true Demolition fans. True fans are not formed over night they take years to gain. It is like me saying oh i have been a bears fan forever so i am a die hard bears fan but now I am a die hard colts fan to because they had a great year last year. It just isnt an over night decision for true fans.
Again I respect your passion for the game that you say you have. I will admit the times i have payed attention to individual players you seem to give it your all but I am not on the field so I am just speaking from a fan perspective. The attitudes that portray from certain individuals are a cancer and they reflect bad on everyone on the team. You want to be a good impact on the community then you and the other guys who want to make a difference do something to give back? doesnt have to be team approved why not several of you go to the Boys and girls club and offer to volunteer a day or 2 a week? talk to Big Brothers Big Sisters and see if they want to do a small group get together with a couple of you making appearances? Just winning games isnt the way to win the community. I know you guys are doing a thing for MDA with the lock up and that is great. If i am not mistaken you guys do nothing during the day except review video, practice an hour or 2 then go back to where ever your staying. If this is the case then you could volunteer an hour or 2 each day at a non for profit and really make an impact on a young persons life.

Well there will be new owners next season I know that the guy from the radio station is trying to by the team from the owner, personally I hope the deal go down!!! I do hope coach luke comes back but thats a toss up? Players have tried to do things but everything must be approved by management!!! I personally set up the wal-mart meet and greet in march, but to be honest I feel danville deserves a winning team who comes out a play hard for 4 quarters and as far as me leaving I cant, to much pride, why just try to leave for I can go to a winning team I want to win here period!!!so leaving is not a choice for me look I do hope you do continue to support the team because we are all going through this together but what happens when next season we are contending for a championship then you will remember this and laugh. we do have a good young qb to look foward to next season, all our recievers will be back. our offense will improve a be a monster on defense there will be some changes but you can expect for #3,#50,#11and#6 to return but Like I stated earlier I very sorry that we couldnt come through on my promise but if I had to make the same promise I'll do it again because I believe we can compete with anyone in the league
