These Riverchickens don't stand a chance (If the rustiness doesn't do 'em in, the travel fatigue will.) Catch me there (I'll be wearing the Devil Rays cap & the black T-shirt) P.S. The reason it's a Devil Rays one is because my hometown is the "Ray" (Racine) See you there (Whichever of you can make it!) :smileydemolition: :smileyriverhawks:

I went to the Danville game and I would guess the crowd to be over 2000,but have not seen the offical results. The crowd was into the game despite losing so that was a positive. The team has a lot of room for improvement and we seem very weak at qb

As good as it is to see the team up and about, wearing another team's uniform comes across a tad 'cheap'. www.oursportscentral.com/photos/displayimage.php?album=2&pos=0Any plans on buying new jerseys? Or sewing a patch with the Demos logo over the Riders? And what about the home jerseys, are they done the same, or do they say Demolition already? Sykotyk

That picture was taken at our home game last friday, hopefully we will be getting new uniforms. The turf also said Pirates from some old Peoria indoor team.

Well, the Peoria Roughriders used to be the Peoria Pirates back when they were in the AF2. They went two years as the Roughriders and never repainted their field. So, does Danville have dark unis to wear? Or they still getting brought in? Or does Danville plan to wear white all year, home and away?

Yeah, they wore white unis against the Freeze as well. I believe you are technically supposed to wear white on the road, so I guess the Riverhawks brought their blue uniforms to keep the players from getting confused.
One improvement in Danville's attire from game 1 to game 2: logo on their helmets.

I must admit, like Scooter, that I like the Dozer. Looked cool on their helmets. Not big and garrish, but just enough you see the logo and that's it.
I know a few times in the AIFL last year, the home team wore white. I know the Stampede had worn white at home in the second home game. I'm still not clear why, unless Reading didn't have white jerseys at the time.
I actually prefer the white-at-home look, as you get more color from the opposing teams. But considering this league isn't on TV much (I don't consider AIFA TV, TV), as long as the two primary jerseys of the teams aren't similar, the two teams should just wear their darks.

Yeah, there really is no definitive consensus among sports on where white should be worn.
AIFA- road NCAA BB- home NCAA FB- road NBA- home NFL- road MLB- home NHL- road

Danville has uniforms ordered. They're late because they weren't ordered by the owner on time. First game was a sellout and 2-300 people were actually turned away. I heard there are issues with the owner and that's a shame. This town/area would really support this well. The team also hasn't been able to practice full out yet since the Palmer Center hasn't given them any time to do so. Even if they could, the owner didn't get the turf there until right before the first game. I heard they've been practicing at our high school in a tight, hard floor fieldhouse only doing "walk-through" stuff..... They looked pretty good Friday for a team that hasn't practiced! AND THE DANCE TEAM LOOKED GOOD!!! A lot of enthusiasm from a big crowd.

The turf has been there for a while as there were pics on the site with them holding a tryout at the Palmer Arena on turf. No excuse for the uniform problem, but it has seemed that the ownership is doing what they can to make it work. They had new uni's for their last game and looked pretty nice.

Well, I went to the Rats@Demos game, and must admit it's a nice small arena. The turf has a few small ripples, but from the scoreboard, there's still one more hockey game scheduled for there, so that can hamper the field flattening out. It's the Pirates logos in the endzones and midfield, so that's a little half-assed.
The uniforms are in, and the Demos have a pretty cool setup. All black with yellow shoulder curves and yellow sidepanels. All yellow numbers, but no names (really not enough room with the shoulder curves).
I liked that they were selling Demos hardhats. Scooter, you'll probably not be able to resist buying them. They also sold megaphones for $2 that little kids were using to scream through.
Attendance was probably 60-65%. But very vocal, especially as the game went on.
