Here are a few pics from the Express tryouts up at Grand Slam Sports Complex on 11/17/07. Asyou can see they had quite a nice turnout. We also got our 1st look at some of the new players. QB John Port, QB Rob Flowers and there was also another QB but sorry his name eludes me right now. I also got a chance to introduce myself and talk briefly with TE Jason henley. He is very excited about the upcoming season. I also want to make a note that i saw and spoke with Express WR Carmelo "Melo" Ocasio and he is doing well. I told him how we all hope he comes back. I hadnt gotten an indication from him either way but i am sure he knows whats going on.
All in all it was a good workout. As i understand it there is one last free to the public workout sometime in January, which is the last one before the start of the season.

gene,
thanks for coming out and shooting some pics , it was a nice turn out...44 guys was slightly more than i expected , but it worked out well...there was a good mix of players....sometimes it ends up a wr/db camp, but there was ol/dl and rb's and lb's , it worked out nice...we were able to go 1 on 1, then to 5 on 5 and onto 7 on 7...we saw a couple of guys we want to take another look at...this week myself and the coaching staff will meet and evaluate what we saw (we have already been discussing it)...3rd and final try out will be in january..no date yet, i wanna work it out around the holidays and the jan. league meeting in Mississippi

It was fun seeing some of the guys from last season and meeting the new ones. I cant wait for the next tryout in January. Football season is just around the corner. Zac enjoyed himself too. We had a good time evaluating the talent as well.

just wanna clear up one terminolgy phrase we use before the critics start...when we go full team during a camp, we call it 7 on 7 , we don't count the qb or the potential blitzing lb....so i don't need to hear that we play with 8 , I Am Fully Aware Of That....lol...should also have some Holiday Signings for you all this week.....and let me be the first to say...."Happy Hoiday Season to Everyone"

I could just hear the complaints now. "but why are you practicing 1 on 1, 5 on 5 & 7 on 7 when its an 8 player per squad league"? Sometimes, i think its at a point where a disclaimer has to be put under each thing posted here to protect those who post the info.

How about this:
"The following post is made with the full understanding that some factual information may be percieved as incorrect by those that have no clue as to what Im trying to say. Additionally, those with no sense of humor or no conception of sarcasm may have a difficult time understanding the gist of this post. Read at your own demise."

That rink is where I first put on the Washington Capitals mascot costume and did some laps. Uh, 1992, I think. What I remember most were the Wolfpack kids teaching me how to check into the boards.... or be checked into the boards....
: )
Needless to say they didn't get any free passes.

so small, lol, beating the express will be easy this year, i mean that QB in the 2nd pic looks like he is 8... I hope he isn't the starter this year. JK. Mice pics Gene, I was going to do som video of our tryouts but had to run back and forth between work and the tryouts.
