I will add that this fan site has probably helped the teams and the league more than they will know. Having a place to discuss the games and outcome along with getting results is more than the league is doing. I think it helps create an excitment about the upcoming games, and match ups between teams. And give you an opportunity to express your views understanding of the game or lack there of. For that I say thanks.

Yes, the league needs to do more. I know (from talking to them) that they wanted to get an intern to write press releases for them, but I don't see any of that happening.

I think it is pretty bad Gene that you would criticize someone on the quantity of the posts that they make. That approach will not encourage others to make posts. I am disturbed that posts are deleted, this does not encourage me to post either if the team or the league requests you to delete and you obey than you need to take away the advertisement "by the fans for the fans" criticism does not make you any less a fan although it is easier than encouragement. I think as a general rule news stories and team releases Probably should not be posted but rather linked to. I have to argue here about the Idea that the reading paper is always negative, even the story about Carmelo was not negative, "Police said Ocasio yelled obscenities at them and was disorderly when they tried to take a man from an apartment that Ocasio said was his." the story is quoting what someone else said. It reported the facts that transpired Not all I am sure but what was available, it draws no conclusions and makes no editorial statements regarding what anyone should do, under the circumstances that is pretty positive. Most all of the stories I have read are positive and acknowledging the success of the express last week for example there was an article on How well coach Logan has led the team, also a human interest article on the sacrifice Matt Sola is making to play, along with his aspirations and dreams for a championship. This week there was a human interest story on Adam Vogel and how he has helped the team get to the northern conference championship. These are nothing but positive. I am not sure what you are reading. I would think that the Express have the right to make what ever decision they want. I believe they can win with Carmelo or with out him he is only one player and with Shawn back the middle of the field has opened up, and I am a firm believer that Defense wins championships. I do have a response to this. It's not about how many posts anyone does or doesn't do. Gene and myself had a talk about this after it was deleted. I also talked to management at Reading. It is not Gene's fault for deleting the story. He was asked if it could be removed. I personally would have liked it to stay up in the beginning. Reason being, I know that there would have been a mixed reaction(both positive and negative). But, most of the negative responses would be as if someone already judged him as guilty. Which isn't right. There are always two sides to every story. I personally don't want to censor these boards. I believe in Freedom Of Speech. I made a judgment call a couple of weeks ago by leaving a certain thread up on "The real fan letter". Reason being, I knew fans would respond to it in a positive way. The only things that have been deleted in here in our 2 year existence were names of people. The FAB will be in Florence next week. We will vote democratically on some type of rule for such cases (ie:teams asking to remove threads). Right now, this is a fan based board. If this was an official messageboard for the league, then maybe those special cases would apply. As stated many times on the boards. This is for both positive and negative comments. Do not be afraid to post. Sorry for the long speech, just don't criticize before you know the whole story.

In laymans terms, they dont want to pay for the service.

As the only remaining moderator not to post an opinion, I have to say that I do have one.
That opinion I have shared with Gene in PM's and it shall remain that way at this time.
Those of you that frequent these boards know that there is no other place you can have this open a discussion about a league or it's teams.
Rest assured, we'll all be in Florence and decisions will be made as to how to proceed.
