Riverhawks’s Robinson Poised to Reach 100 Touchdown Plateau
JOHNSTOWN, PA – Just four games is a little early to be seeing milestones reached, but that is exactly what Quenteen Robinson hopes to do when the Riverhawks take on the Pittsburgh Riverrats Saturday night. Robinson, in his 5th year of professional indoor football, is hoping to reach 100 touchdowns for his career, a career that spans three franchises and three teams in Johnstown.
His career began with the Johnstown Jackals of the National Indoor Football league in 2000 and then the Johnstown J-Dogs in 2001, where he led the league with 80 receptions. This is also Robinson’s third year with the Riverhawks. In 2005, he was second in the league with 68 receptions and 25 touchdowns, and in 2006 he caught 70 balls for 26 touchdowns and was named to the American Indoor Football League’s All-Pro 1st team. Quenteen currently leads the league in scoring (66) and touchdowns (11).
In other Riverhawks news and notes, former IUP standout Neal Wood is set to start his second game at defensive end for the Riverhawks, this time with a little practice under his belt. Wood started the season as linebacker for the Canton Legends but was released for an undisclosed violation of team rules. He started the Hawks game at Erie without practicing with the team. Mike Marshall, one of Robinson’s teammates with the Johnstown Jackals, also returns to play defensive line for the Riverhawks this week. And offensive/ defensive lineman Shawn Williams is also due to return after a one game suspension for an off-the-field altercation two weeks ago.
The Johnstown Riverhawks, a proud member of the American Indoor Football Association, will next host the Pittsburgh Riverrats Saturday, March 17th night at the Cambria War Memorial Arena in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. Kickoff is at 7:05pm.Both teams are looking for their first win of the season.
