Because I can't base them up with facts....yet. But, I know J'town players were hoping Manny caught the Td that wasn't called. Once I get some facts, then I'll post. But, from what I heard after last week..................it doesn't look good.

Yeah, Johnstown doesn't look to be in very good shape. But I don't have any more than any of you guys.

I heard alot since our game last Friday. But, if anything happens between now and then. You did hear "things" on here first.

It's hard to tell. I will give them credit, MinkMorris' forte is in franchise rehabilitation...so they could do some wonders here. I think they wish they'd have put a lot more money into this and hired some people to do things.

I know i'm new to posting on this site but I read it everyday and it's sad to say it but if the riverhawks fold it wouldn't surprise me. I interned down in johnstown last season and say how poor the management is and the team didn't market their product very well. When I went to their home opener this year versus Canton their were probably between 700-800 people there. You can't make a profit off of that and I'm sure their other games have been a disappointment as well in attendance. At that game I talked to my old boss from the riverhawks and he said the team lost over $100,000 last year. As much as I enjoy their games i don't think their future is good in johnstown.

People don't realize but you need to really market. That means upfront spending for things like commercials, ads, billboards, fliers, etc. You can't just rely on trade-offs with sponsors for such things. You can't rely on a TV station promoting the team for you. You can't rely on a newspaper promoting for you. You can't rely on other companies to promote for you.
You have to spend the money and do the leg work. Good marketing has a huge return on investment, yet these teams, as companies, do not want to do any of it.
Teams that go cheap, stay cheap, and are sparsely attended.

This is Johnstown's 3rd team and 3rd different league for this football organization. In 2000 they played in the Indoor Football League as the Johnstown Jackals that team folded. A few years later the Johnstown team would be renamed the J-Dogs in the NIFL and then that team folded. Now their struggling as the Riverhawks in the AIFA. Indoor football just isn't clicking in this town.

well johnstown is not one of the biggest of towns either.. even with altuna (sp) and state college close by if they advertised then they would get a big crowd... they COULD get a big crowd because thats football country down there
