Riverhawks Fill Holes in Roster at Final Tryout

JOHNSTOWN, PA, - This past Saturday, the Johnstown Riverhawks of the American Indoor Football Association held their final regional tryout at the White Township Recreation Center in Indiana, Pennsylvania. Approximately 30 players turned out for the early morning workouts, many of which were already on the bubble with the team. "We were able to shore up a couple of problem areas that had concerned us and we feel that now we are in a good position as we go into training camp", said head Coach Steven G. Folmar.
The Riverhawks will report to training camp with physicals and opening meetings on Tuesday evening at 7pm at the White Township Recreation Center. Practices will be there for the remainder of the week from 10pm until midnight. Practices are normally open to the public.

The Johnstown Riverhawks, a proud member of the American Indoor Football Association will kick off the 2007 season on February 2, 2007, at the War Memorial Arena in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. Practice starts tonight and not a peep on the website about who is playing.....then again last year, the never updated the website with the player roster.

Actually there isn't really any information on the website.

The league won’t allow the Riverhawks to release a camp roster until all contracts are signed and physicals are passed, which is expected before tonight’s session.

“We can’t officially give that out until it’s cleared through the league,” said Folmar, a native of Meadville, Crawford County. “The league is real touchy about putting out any information.”

The reasoning, yes... the timing, no. You've got to be kidding me, right? Physicals have been the holdup? Two weeks before the season?

And I DOUBT that all those signings released by the Riverrats as they signed their players had physicals completed at that time. You usually do them all at once just prior to training camp.

Colussus, can you give us some insight into your situation in Rostraver? Did you have your physical done waaaaaay back when they announced your signing? Dinkins? That was months ago and these requirements didn't stop them...
