Riverhawks Continue to Grow, Name GM and Dance Team Instructor
10/15/06 - American Indoor Football Association (AIFA) Johnstown RiverHawks
JOHNSTOWN, PA - The Johnstown Riverhawks of the American Indoor Football Association are continuing to build a cornerstone franchise as Riverhawks' owners Michael Dawson and James Wallace announced Quenteen Robinson the team's new General Manager, and Kristi Clifford as the Riverhawks new Dance Team Instructor at a press conference last week.
Robinson certainly knows Johnstown, having grown up here; he was a four-year letter winner and team captain in football, baseball and wrestling, accumulating numerous accolades before graduating from Johnstown High School. He currently works for the Keystone Economic Development Corporation, is the President of the Johnstown Boys/Girls Baseball League and coaches numerous youth teams in the community.
In 2007 Quenteen will not only make a difference in the front office as he has also been a fixture on the field of Johnstown professional football since it's inception in 2000. Robinson has played wide receiver, running back and kick-returner, as well as being a team captain on all three teams that have called Johnstown home. In 2001, he led the National Indoor football league in receptions with 80 while playing with the Johnstown J-Dogs. In 2005, the Riverhawks inaugural season, Quenteen led the AIFL in all-purpose yards, and was second in the league in receptions and touchdowns. Last year he continued his dominance in the AIFL with 70 receptions and 26 touchdowns in route to a selection on the AIFL ALL-PRO first team. Johnstown fans will be glad to know that Quenteen has no plans of retiring while taking on the added duties.
The Riverhawks new dance team instructor, Kristi Clifford, is a co-owner of Turners All-Star Cheerleading Program, which she helped start in 1994 with just one team of 12 girls. Turners now has 6 teams with over 150 girls. Her schools teach everything from cheerleading to tumbling and feature boys and girls from ages 5 to 18. Last year she coached the varsity squad that won the UCA National Championship in Orlando, Florida, and eventually competed in the world competition. Ms. Clifford is also the Head Cheerleading Coach at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown as well as Forest Hills High School. Her experience, work ethic and personality make a welcome addition to the Riverhawk family!
