Win or lose I just hope Erie and Canton beat the crap out of each other enough that Canton comes limping into Pittsburgh next week.

Does attendance rise when Canton comes to town, or conversely when Erie does?
If it was a great rivalry, it would...as it stands, I don't figure.

Does attendance rise when Canton comes to town, or conversely when Erie does? If it was a great rivalry, it would...as it stands, I don't figure. I think when you say rivalry, most people think of Pittsburgh/Cleveland, Ohio State/Michigan, etc. Where it doesn't matter if one or both teams suck, it'll still be a sellout just because. We're not there yet, but we're getting there. Three years so far and it's building steam. So, rivalry in the truest sense? Probably not, but we're working on it.

I think Canton is a rival of alot of teams. You could say that Canton and Reading is a rivalry. But when they play each other it is one heck of a game. Minus in Canton when they didn't show up. Good luck to both teams and I hope the fans get a great game. I'll be listening to Reading beating down Danville.

FREEZE OWNER GUARANTEES VICTORY ON SATURDAY (Erie, Pennsylvania; April 18, 2007) David Hodas, owner of the Erie Freeze Football Club of the American Indoor Football Association released the following statement: "The rivalry between the Erie Freeze and Canton Legends goes back to the earliest genesis of our brand of Indoor Football. The teams are combatants on the field and occasionally our organizational differences have spilled outside the lines of the gridiron. The 2007 season has not been the kindest to the Erie Freeze. As a promise to our fans and the City of Erie, I wish to unequivocally announce my support of the coaching staff and our players who wear the crest the Freeze championing our area each and every week certainly for the love of the great game of football. Despite our team's record, I feel that Saturday night is a tremendous opportunity for our franchise. My belief in our team is so strong that I have no qualms in announcing that I am guaranteeing an Erie Freeze victory over the defending champion Canton Legends on Saturday, April 21 at the "Igloo" in the Tullio Arena. The Legends have never defeated the Freeze on our home turf and they will not on Saturday. This is an awesome proposition for our fans and for our team. There is no loss of respect between the two teams, but with the amount of player movement between the squad and its inherit baggage, not to mention last season's debacle over "stealing a playoff game" still rings strong with our team and fans. My promise is this, 'I, Dave Hodas, guarantee a victory over the Canton Legends on April 21. If the Freeze fail to win, a possibility that I don't foresee, any ticket holder will be eligible for a free ticket for a game in the 2008 season. Your ticket stub can be redeemed with a voucher for a game ticket next regular season. This offer precludes or excludes any other offer and has no cash value.' With this guarantee, I know our fans will be here to cheer our team to victory, concluded Hodas." For more information on the Erie Freeze log on to www.eriefreeze.com or call (814) 454-0200. Talk about your all-time backfires. Though the letter above looks like it was edited? There was also a sentence or 2 in there stating that the Erie Freeze Fan Club President would take everyone who attended the game out for dinner & drinks after the game, on his tab. I wonder if that happened?

No problem Picman, You are a class act, FRIEND and fellow Dolphins fan!!! I was glad to "pay up". Enjoy the poster. The Chillers enjoyed signing it for you when I explained it needed to be autographed to "PICMAN". I also got MML to agree to a wager minutes before kickoff and I will be wearing the #51 Legends Jersey for our final 2 Home Games on May 12th and May 26th. I also will be wearing it on May 18th when the Legends host the RiverHawks, Joe and I will be at the game to catch the Hogan bunch. I will don the Jersey again if the Legends have any playoff games that we attend. I just want to say that it was another CLASSIC Canton/Erie Game, another chapter in the rivalry and another great performance by some of the BEST FANS in the AIFA on BOTH SIDES of the BATTLE!!! I still can barely talk today from all the screaming that I did last nite. VS. :smileyfreeze: BEST RIVALRY IN THE AIFA!!!!!!!!
