The 2006 American Bowl Champion Canton Legends today announced that they have signed two previous members of their championship team for the 2007 stretch run.
Larry Kinnard (6' 5”, 320, OL, Mount Union) returns to anchor an offensive line that has allowed a total 28 sacks on Legends quarterbacks this season. Kinnard, a former Alliance Aviator, will make his 2007 debut against Danville this Sunday.
Also returning Sunday is fan favorite Doug Schwaberow (6' 0", 220, RB, Walsh). “Schwabby” returns to the Legends after leaving the Marion Mayhem of the Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL). Schwaberow's return should help to establish a rushing game as well as afford quarterback Kevin Mason with some additional protection
Schwaberow and Kinnard were both AIFL second team Pro-stars in 2006.
The Canton Legends are the reigning league champion and are currently in third place in the AIFA Northern division. The Legends next game is Sunday, May 6 at the Canton Civic Center against the expansion Danville Demolition. The theme for the evening is “Family Night” and will feature a raffle benefiting “Big Brothers & Big Sisters”. Tickets are available at the Civic Center Box office and on game day.

Schwaberow's style of play just didn't translate well to the CIFL game. You need a shiftier back in the CIFL, not a pure bruiser like Schwaberow is. He had 42 yards on 16 carries in Marion with a touchdown, 3 catches for 45 yards, and 13 tackles, 2 for loss.

He fits into Canton cause he can hold on to the ball, plus he can block

The stats also say he was more effective on defense than offense. Could he be a two way player in Canton? We need help on both.

It depends on Rashan Hall and when will he be healthy, since Doug plays linebacker I think were deep at that position but it never hurt to have more

Yeah, were pretty deep at LB. I'm thinking not full time, but maybe just a few plays to give someone a break. Maybe even Thomas Matthews could drop back into DB coverage and help JoJo out a bit.

It never hurts to have more, for sure. He's the starting RB in Canton, of course, but it's great now to have a now-experienced indoor LB.

Final roster date is May 17th. Misty from the Titans got that info last Saturday.
It was suppose to be the date I stated earlier..................but that was changed like so many other things.

No surprise there is it, I believe the only reason this league makes rules is so they have something to change
