What a ride it has been!
I've had plenty of complaints about how the team has been run in the last few years, but, in this post, I want to remember the positives.
Through the course of the last four years, I've only missed two Legends home games, but I've more than made up for it on road trips. I've rode on the bus with the players, stayed in the same hotel, went out on appearances with the team and basically been a part of the franchise. If you have your franchise, I encourage you to get involved at a high level. You will learn many useful things and meet some great people. There are some people I want to call out as the heart and soul of the Legends.
First, another man who has been there from the beginning. Rejoiced with every win and felt the losses like a punch in the gut. Tim "Picman" Smith did a lot of great work for that team and probably was not appreciated as much as he should have been. Thanks Tim.
Although the team won the championship in year 2, the most fun I ever had was in year 3. Coach Ed Korns took that franchise as his own and was making it work with pride, accountability and integrity as GM. He's a good man who did an awesome job under the circumstances and it's my great pleasure to call him a friend.
Also, Paul Cipar an owner who was with us in '06 & '07. Thanks Paul.
Also in year three, we had a front office staff that was second to none in this league. Every one of them placed the good of the team in front of their own agendas.
Players? We had players! Some that come to mind:
JoJo Polk JR Cipra Keven Mason Doug Schwaberow Rob Hannah Cody Smith Chris Archie Dan Larlham DeForest Hart Jon McClain Randy Knapp and others
Thanks to all the former Legends players who welcomed me and my family as part of the team.
Unsung hero: Renee Waterson our trainer. Awesome job.
This may be a shocker, but I also want to thank Joe Hoffman for allowing us to be part of it. We disagreed a great deal and eventually parted because of it, but I still respect what he was trying to do, even if I didn't agree with the method.
Lastly, thanks to that hard core, day in and day out group of fans we have in Canton. I know it hurts now, but remember the good times. Remember the night we harassed the Heroes with the Kleenex and the baby bottles. Remember the Erie rivalry. Remember that, even though Erie coined the phrase "UNO", we brought it to life!
Nobody wanted to come and play in Canton. Just the way a home field should be. Thanks to you ... us ... the fans.

Ron I want to thank you for all that you done as a fan and front office work that you and your family done for the legends. I had a great time and learned alot along the way, and my greatest hope is that if we get another team either in this league or another that they will have a need for a an old photo guy

It was an awesome effort by all of you. Ron, Tim, and Ron's clan. Maybe if Canton listened to Ron's idea they would still be around.

This is one of the things i hate to see the most when a team folds. Diehard and dedicated fans who go above and beyond to do what they can to help their team thrive & be successful only to get stuck without a team. My hope for the future is that someone will buy the rights to the Legends and they can be resurrected again. In a strange way i will miss those 2 weeks every year when it was Erie/Canton week. It was fun reading the trash talk and seeing the occasional video crop up poking fun at certain "blurs" and "blue haired" individuals. Losing the Canton fans is like losing a part of the AIFAFANS family. That said i too would like to recognize and congratulate both Ron & Tim for their contributions both to their team and to this message board. You guys had a large role in creating & developing AIFAFANS & i hope you both continue to stick around and enjoy AIFA football. And as Joe said, you can both be Erie fans now. Heck its only a few hours away right? To the rest of the Legends fans i can only say that i hope & pray you get a team in the very near future. Long live the best name & logo in all professional sports!

I'm VERY bummed about this and send out my love to all my "Legend Brothers" You Guys Are THE BEST!!!!!
I also want to add a couple of things to what Ron said, I first want to acknowledge that the first road game Joe and I went to was in Canton and the rest as they say is history. Ron and Picman were the some of first fans that we met. The rivalry was born that day, and so were the lifelong friendships that we now have. I also have to mention Sean (Tatonka) and Aaron (Fists Of Fury) from the AIFL years. As well as Andrew Haines, the founder of what is now the AIFA. And our good friend CantonFan and his brother who welcomed us to join them in the "best seats in the house" on SEVERAL occasions in the 2006 season (I think Joe and I made it to Canton 5 times in '06). I would also like to acknowledge Ken from the Legends who was ALWAYS glad to see us any time we were there. He even got us to meet Brooke Hogan. A class act as are EVERYONE that was involved with the team. Mr. Hoffman, Coach Olive and Coach Korns were also very gracious to us every time we visited them. It's a VERY SAD DAY for ALL of us. The last original franchise is gone. Our rival is gone.
But the history, memories and friendships that we have will live FOREVER!!!!!!

I haven't got any confirmation on it........but.......
I heard that 2 people want to buy the Canton Legends by this Friday. If that is true, then all may not be lost. I'm trying to find out. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Say someone does buy the Legends, does that mean the league will re-ammend the schedule that they had to ammend when the Legends and Arizon dropped out?

Maybe all the prayers and candles i've lit might help after all, after work tonight I was planing on sacrificing a live chicken like in major league. Joe if you hear anything else let me know I refuse to give hope until somebody post it on either the Legends site or the league site that we are done

Reading just released a new revised schedule today and Canton isnt on it. The canton games were replaced with other teams.

Picman...........try to get ahold of Rashan Hall and find out. If anyone close to the team would know. He sure would. I got my information thirdhand. So take it for what it's worth. I would love nothing more than to have our main rival back.
